Nick sat on the stage, his legs hanging off, hsi guitar on his knees. He was tuning his guitar, each note vibrating in his ears, each string pulsing with life, each string an individual note. The coffee shop was busy with people. People on their phone, a cup of coffee in hand, not bothering to stop and listen. People eating talking with their frineds, boyfriends/girlfriends. Oblivious to everything going on around them, not caring. Nick shook his head sadly. He hated how people would walk around and not realize what was going on around them. Nick continued to tune his guitar, listening to the notes, while listening to the world around him.

Ally walked up to the counter of the Sunburst and ordered her usual double shot white chocolate mocha with whipped cream. Yeah, she was that good. Suddenly, she heard the sound of a guitar. She grabbed her hot coffee and spun around, glad to see Nick up on the stage, studying people and tuning his guitar. She made her way over to him and sat down so close to him that their knees tocuhed. She pulled down her short shorts, and gazed at him, smiling. "Hey, Nick. How's it going? You look pretty sad, you know," she said, laying her head on his shoulder.

Nick was so busy tunning his guitar he didn't notice Ally sit next to him until she talked. Hypocrite he told himself. He smiled inwardly when he noticed her though, Ally had a certain glow about her that just made everyone happy, even if Nick didn't show it. Hey, Nick. How's it going? You look pretty sad, you know
Nick felt her golden hair touch his cheek as her head rested against his shoulder. He shrugged, accidentally shifted her hair, were it rested against his chest.
"It's just kind of a dreary day, you know?" he replied.

"Yeah, I know. It's so sunny and bright and summery outside. I just don't know how you do it," she joked, hugging him quickly and sitting up straight again. "I think we should practice tomorrow. Like, do homework and then come here and practice. We have our first gig on Saturday!" she enthused, smiling up at him, nudging him in the ribs. "I'm so excited, I can't even tell you. And if you wanna know a secret.." she cast a quick glance around the room and leaned in close to him, whispering, "I'm going out with Brandon Henson!"

Nick was so lost in his own thoughts he missed what Ally said next. Assuming it was a jeer at him, he forced a laughed, but kept the dark look in his eyes. Ally was rambling on, oblivious to his thoughts.
...practice tomorrow. Like, do homework and then come here and practice. We have our first gig on Saturday!
Nick could tell she was exited, not because of the gig, but of something else.
I'm going out with Brandon Henson! Nick was thoughtful for a moment, and uttered a quick, unenthusiastic, "Congratulations".
In a way, Nick was dissapointed, he had a slight crush on her, not obssessing, but a tiny one. Despite that, Nick was happy for her, she was his best friend, someone he could confide in. Ally had that reaction on a lot of people.
"So," he asked her nonchalantly, "Any dates scheduled yet?"

She sighed happily, but she knew Nick didn't want to listen to her ramble about Brandon. She had a way of knowing when Nick was uninterested, unhappy, or... anything un, really. "Well, he's coming to watch me on Saturday and then we're going out to dinner," she said, kicking her heels against the stage. She gazed up at Nick and saw the dark shadows in his eyes. She really wished there was something she could do to help him, but there never was, and she doubted there ever would be.

Nick was staring down, fixed on his guitar. Out of the corner of his eye he saw that she was staring at him, trying to find the problem.
Well, he's coming to watch me on Saturday and then we're going out to dinner. Nick didn't repply but thought, Hey, its Saturday, the least i can do is act happy.
That's great Ally! He told her enthusiasticly. I'll remmember to play extra bad just for him! He gave her a playful shove, and rested his guitar next to him.

Ally smiled at him again and shoved him back. Knowing that she was one of the only people who was allowed to touch his guitar, she grabbed it, plugged it into the amp behind them, and finished tuning it for him. When she was done, she played a few tentative chords... then started playing Before I Forget by Slipknot. She smiled at him again and started to sing...

Nick watched, impressed by Ally's knowledge of dark songs like this. The harsh chords, combined with Ally's (now harsh) voice was like a lulaby to him. He closed his eyes and let the music wash over him...
Stapled shut, inside an outside world and I'm Sealed in tight, bizarre but right at home Claustrophobic, closing in and I'm Catastrophic, not again I'm smeared across the page, and doused in gasoline I wear you like a stain, yet I'm the one who's obscene Catch me up on all your sordid little insurrections, I've got no time to lose, and I'm just caught up in all the cattle
Fray the strings Throw the shapes Hold your breath Listen!
I am a world before I am a man I was a creature before I could stand I will remember before I forget BEFORE I FORGET THAT!
I'm ripped across the ditch, and settled in the dirt and I'm I wear you like a stitch, yet I'm the one who's hurt Pay attention to your twisted little indiscretions I've got no right to win, I'm just caught up all the battles
Locked in clutch Pushed in place Hold your breath Listen!
I am a world before I am a man I was a creature before I could stand I will remember before I forget BEFORE I FORGET THAT!
I am a world before I am a man I was a creature before I could stand I will remember before I forget BEFORE I FORGET THAT!
My end It justifies my means All I ever do is delay My every attempt to evade The end of the road and my end It justifies my means All I ever do is delay My every attempt to evade THE END OF THE ROAD!
I am a world before I am a man I was a creature before I could stand I will remember before I forget BEFORE I FORGET THAT!
I am a world before I am a man I was a creature before I could stand I will remember before I forget BEFORE I FORGET THAT!
I am a world before I am a man I was a creature before I could stand I will remember before I forget BEFORE I FORGET THAT!

Outfit Shoes
Whisper walked into the Sunburst place, or whatever it was called. She had a wad of one dollar bills shoved in her front pocket, her pink hair was down as it normally was. I feel like a stripper, carrying around all these $1 bills. thought Whisper. She wasn't really all that hungry, she didn't even know why she was there. The place was pretty much deserted.
She thought that at first she walked in while they were closed, and happened to leave the door unlocked, but what place closed at 4 in the afternoon? Whisper smiled when she saw people there. Perhaps she would go talk to them... She walked over, being extremely careful as to not trip over anything. She waited until the girl was finished singing to speak.
"Hey-lo." said Whisper when she neared them, grin plastered on her lips.
