Saiya shuffled her feet down the corridor, scowl upon her lips, posture bad as per usual. Her mother always nagged her about her posture; You'll give yourself osteoporosis if you don't stand up straight, she could hear the voice in the back of her mind. She rolled her eyes and continued on, ears perked for the sound of someone apt to tattle, or a teacher in worse case scenario. Saiya sighed, she was supposed to be going to the bathroom, but today was one of those days where she felt like going to the "bathroom" and not coming back. The typical way for her to skip, the teachers still fell for it. Folding her arms she paused for a moment, allowing her mind to travel back to a mere year ago...
It was in the bathroom, I'd stolen a bottle of pain killers from my mother's purse. I had hated my life... I opened the bottle and swallowed it all. I was caught, empty bottle in hand and rushed to the hospital, they pumped my stomach and I went home.
The scene flashed in Saiya's memory, clear and sharp as the weeks following her suicide attempt. She sighed, shook the thought from her mind and carried on, scowl firmly still upon her thick lips.

Ben dug his clenched hands deeper into his jeans as he stalked along the hallways. His History teacher had kicked him out of class for "disrupting the other students", but there was no way in hell he was going to the principal's office. He hated school, and at this moment, he hated his life.
He shifted the bag on his shoulder so it would stop sliding down and continued on his walk of shame. He wasn't even looking where he was going; he just went. He felt a solid something as he walked, and almost fell over as he tried to steady both of them.
"Crap. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to like, kill you or anything," he muttered sheepishly as he stuck his hands back in his pockets, letting his firm grip on the girl go. "I'm Ben," he introduced himself, thinking he may as well make small talk if he was going to be kicked out of class. "What are you doing here?"

Saiya cocked an eyebrow, looking strangely at the guy. She knew him to be a Senior, that was about it. That was odd, normally someone of her "social status" wouldn't even be apologized to, let alone even talked to in the first place. But she took this as somewhat of an opportunity to talk to someone, maybe her mom wouldn't nag her so much if she at least said a few simple words that weren't cruel to someone... She was unsure of how to respond, so she figured that she'd try to be somewhat nice. Introduce herself at the very least.
"My name is Saiya, it's quite alright, it's not the first time someone has nearly "killed" me." Saiya then paused, looking this Ben guy up and down, he didn't seem to be the type apt to tattle... "I'm cutting class, and you?" she finished, her British accent prominent as ever.

Ben studied her somewhat shocked face as she quite clearly attempted to make conversation. "I got kicked out of class, again," he said, shrugging his shoulders slightly. He backed up against one of the walls and sank down to the cold school floor, sighing as he went. "If my mom ever finds out, I'm dead. More than dead, really. She'll shoot me, then hang me, maybe overdose me, and then, like, bring me back to life and water torture me."
Being the drama king that he was, he used his hands to exaggerate as he talked. He looked up at Saiya, studing her face. For a lack of stuff to say, he asked, "Saiya's a pretty name." He knew the instant after he sounded like a sap, and he should have never ever uttered those words. He felt his face flush, and he averted his eyes, looking at his scuffed, crumbling All Stars and sighing again.

Saiya smirked slightly, her cheeks a little pink. Only it looked ten times more obvious than that of an average resident of California, seeing as her skin was so pale. Sure what Ben had said was very cheesy, but that didn't really matter. A compliment an actual sentence that wasn't derogatory to her. That was very rare, seeing as Saiya was the outcast pretty much everywhere, even at home. Her older sister was a supermodel, her little brother a jock, her dad an accomplished lawyer, her mother the perfect little housewife, and her grandmother (bless her soul) gone absolutely bonkers. She shoved her hands, staring down at her equally dis-repaired DC shoes. Her black bangs fell into her blue-esk eyes.
"I know what you mean about your mother going starkers on you getting in trouble. That's why oftentimes I don't bother going to class." said Saiya, pretending she hadn't heard Ben's comment about her name, to spare him some embarrassment.

Ben felt his breath catch in his throat as Saiya's hair fell into her extremely pretty eyes. He wanted very badly to compliment her agian, but he didn't, on account that the last thing he said was so damn corny. "Mothers," he agreed, rolling his eyes. He felt his hand go involuntarily up the back of his neck and into his hair, his personal little nervous habit.
His brain suddenly went into overload, as he was remembering a time when he was first kicked out of class. They'd just moved to California, and Ben had been kissing a girl on a dare, before the bell rang to begin class. The teacher had walked in and saw them, kicking them both out of school. He'd been in private school then, and that's why he was in public school now.
Ben brought his attentions back to the here and now, focusing his gaze back on Saiya. "Well, I can tell you're not from here," he said, gesturing around at the walls, after noticing how pale she really was. "Where are you from, originally?"

Saiya figured she had nothing to lose, after all, this Ben guy was already getting on her good side. Something exceedingly rare upon a first encounter with herself. She paused for a moment, then formulated words.
"I'm from London, I've been around here a few years though." said Saiya, shoving her hands into her pockets, trying to forget the expierence of moving, it was awful.
Saiya kicked at the floor with her scuffed DC shoes, using only her largest toe, as not to make any noise. The few dollars of change in her pockets jingled slightly as she did so, it was rare that Saiya had any paper money on her, seeing as she got most of her money tapping into vending machienes and stealing the quarters. She had gotten caught once, by her grandmother who was drunk at the time, so she didn't get in trouble.

(Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, I forgot about this thread )
Ben smiled at her. "That must have been really cool. I've always really wanted to travel but.. I'm stuck in this hell hole." Ben started thinking, again, about how much he really did hate his knew "home". It was filled with preps, and if there was one thing in the entire world he hated, it was prepts. Not that he was clique-based, or anything. He just hated how some people were happy all the time, and that they used their money to get ahead, and how they thought they were better than everyone else, when everybody knew they had problems, too.
"I'm from Chicago, originally." He said, breaking out of his reverie, though he couldn't really think of anything else to say. He was too mad.

((Lol, it's okay))
Saiya however, didn't smile. It took a lot for her to do so. Chicago, Saiya had been there once, since the plane they took from England to California connected in Dublin, and in Chicago. There hadn't been much of a lay-over time, so she hadn't seen much, but what she did see was a very well taken care of city. Like every other place, Saiya assumed Chicago had its "slums" as well, but not ones that were visible from the airport anyway...
"That's interesting," Saiya began, but trailed off for lack of what to say. She felt somewhat awkward, so she settled on biting her lip and thrusting her hands farther into her pockets.
